CASTLE STREET PROPERTY: GETTING HERE BY ROAD

Sat Nav - LA9 7AD:

Please be aware that Sat Nav systems will normally take you to Gandy Street which is a few streets away from School House. You have either just gone past us or haven’t quite made it as far as us. From Gandy Street, take a right turn onto Castle Street. Follow the road onto Ann Street and then onto Wildman Street. Take the first left (after the zebra crossing) onto Castle Street. We are the first detached house on the left opposite St George's Church. Take a left into Sleddale Gardens where we have a small parking area, on the left.

From the Motorway:
Leave the M6 at Junction 36. Follow the dual carriageway signposted for Kendal and take the first exit for Kendal Town Centre. Join the one-way system along Highgate. Turn right into Lowther Street and continue on the one-way system.

After passing the bus station on your left, turn right at the traffic lights into Sandes Avenue. Go over the bridge and then at the mini roundabout (just past Kendal train station), take a right onto Wildman Street. Take the first left, just before the bridge, onto Castle Street. We are the first detached house on the left opposite St George's Church. Take a left into Sleddale Gardens where we have a small parking area, on the left.

From Windermere:
Follow Windermere Road into Kendal past the County Council Offices. Follow the road round, straight across at the traffic lights and onto Sandes Avenue. Go over the bridge and then at the mini roundabout (just past Kendal train station), take a right onto Wildman Street. Take the first left, just before the bridge, onto Castle Street. We are the first detached house on the left opposite St George's Church. Take a left into Sleddale Gardens where we have a small parking area, on the left.

GETTING HERE BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT

We are in easy walking distance from the Main Bus station and Kendal Train station. Regular trains run throughout the day between Oxenholme station and Windermere, to Kendal station.

 

KIRKLAND PROPERTY: GETTING HERE BY ROAD

 

Sat Nav - LA9 5AD: 

From the Motorway:
Leave the M6 at Junction 36. Follow the dual carriageway signposted for Kendal and take the first exit for Kendal Town Centre (A6). Shortly after the traffic lights at Romney road, the traffic from a bridge over the river will join the road from the right. This is immediately before you join the one-way system along Kirkland. Shortly after, the first right hand turn will take you into the Parish Church car park (just before Ring O’ Bells pub) where we have a parking permit for one car. Remember it is a one-way system so if you miss the turn-off – you have to go all the way round again!

From Windermere:
Follow Windermere Road towards Kendal, but then take a right turn onto Queens Road (signposted Golf Course, Underbarrow, Brigsteer ) before you reach the town centre. Go straight across the junction at the end, onto Bankfield Road. Take the third right turn onto Anchorite Fields. Go straight over the two mini Roundabouts and then finally at the junction take a left onto the A6 into Kendal. Shortly after joining this road the traffic from a bridge over the river will join the road from the right. This is immediately before you join the one-way system along Kirkland. Shortly after, the first right hand turn will take you into the Parish Church car park (just before Ring O’ Bells pub) where we have a parking permit for one car. Remember it is a one-way system so if you miss the turn-off – you have to go all the way round again!

GETTING HERE BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT

We are approximately a 15 minute walk from Kendal’s main Bus station on Blackhall Road. Kendal Train station (LA9 6BT) is also approximately a 15 minute walk away from the Holiday Let. Oxenholme train station (LA9 7HG) is located just on the outskirts of Kendal, about a 10 minute drive / taxi ride. Regular trains run throughout the day from Oxenholme station to Kendal station.

PARKING

We have paid for a parking permit for the Parish Church. This is a 3 minute walk from the flat. Please note the permit is only valid in the Parish Church car park. We are unable to guarantee availability of a space but the car park is nearly always quiet at night. 

Some additional on street parking is available in the surrounding streets (Chapel Lane, Buttery well Lane, Brock Lane) but please make sure you read the signs carefully for restrictions. Some areas allow one hours parking free of charge.

Another alternative is to use the council operated car park at Peppercorn Lane. You can buy a 3 or 7 day pass for this car park at the ticket machines.
