Castle Street is a one way street. If you miss the left turning onto Sleddale Gardens you will have to go around the one way system again!

School House is the first house on the left hand side on Castle Street, opposite St George’s Church. From Castle Street take a left into Sleddale Gardens. Parking for both School House & School House Cottage is on the left directly in front of School House Cottage and behind the main building known as School House. We have one parking space allocated for the Cottage and two spaces for the House.

We would be very grateful if you could park your car in a way that enables two other cars to fit in the area also – it can be a bit of a squeeze! There is some additional free parking available on Castle Street opposite School House.

a little snippet of history

It is understood the original School House was built in 1830 on the grounds of a medieval pottery. In 1835 it was used as a school for both boys and girls, but in 1990 the property was demolished and a new building created and named School House. Here is a picture we have found of what it used to look like. The property to the right is still standing today.
